Dionaea muscipula (Soland. ex Ellis)
"1979"

VFT "1979" was received from Wes Buckner on 15 February 07. This is a clone originally from Mike King, who provided this story:
In July 1979, we took the train home from Kew Gardens, but on the way back at Waterloo railway station, a flower shop had a notice in the door stating "Venus flytraps sold here"! I bought the last 2 they had. One plant had unusually large and oval traps with a deep maroon colour and is one of the most attractive clones.

The flower photo was taken on 25 June 07.
